According to the latest report from Statcounter, Windows 11 jumped from 23% to 26% in October 2023. Statcounter's data indicate that 26.14% of all Windows computers run Windows 11.
The recent gain represents one of the biggest month-to-month leaps in the past year. It also ascends Windows 11 to its highest market share yet, eclipsing the previous high set in October 2024.
That means Windows 11 is clawing back about 1% of market share a month, and it only has about 50 points left until it overtakes Windows 10. Doing some napkin math, that means sometime around 2027.
Windows 11 has just reached a new all-time high market share. Statcounter reports that almost 31% of all Windows users have upgraded their systems to Windows 11, while Windows 10 goes below 65%.
Put simply, as things currently stand, I’d be hugely surprised if Windows 11 manages to hit a 10% market share before the end of this year.
